Coyote with a dream"Kill The Spider"

Tonight would be a Freemason meeting for me. But, in my quest for dollars I've had to back out of all activities except Kung Fu and completing my new album, LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 1.

I should have a couple more songs mixed today and tonight. A few of the upcoming songs require flute to finish them. My flute is in bad need of repair and is unplayable--so I gave up on this album a few months ago. But, my daughter said I could borrow her flute--so...

Here's what might be the FINAL MIX of "Kill The Spider," from my upcoming album by American Zen. This has my last attempt at playing my worn out Selmer-Bundy nickle flute from 1975.

I hope you like my FUZZ BASS. I recorded the bass sounding normal through my Marshall guitar amp twice, in stereo. But for some reason I got crazy and added two more fuzz bass tracks. So it would take four bass players to duplicate this live. You'll hear my lost Alvarez acoustic guitar, and me playing another four tracks of electric guitars and some cool sounding drums I recorded in the CV Park gymnasium. They kept getting buried in the mix...

My daughter told me last night that she likes the ending with my squashing the spider in my hands.

Tell me how you like it!

Check out this song!  "Kill The Spider"

Keep checking here for more songs as I complete them.

Thanks for your feedback.

Album = MIXDOWN

I am mixing the album,
LEVEL 4 = Kung Fu Cowboy PART 1

Songlist:

 1.  Kung Fu Cowboy
This is the first song I ever recorded in ProTools back in 2002? I was still recovering from the Black Widow spider bite and downloaded the FREE version of Protools 5. It was only an 8-track program so I decided to fill up the tracks with the tongue-clicks for percussion. Some of those original tongue-clicks and acoustic and vocals are on this song. I added more to when I started this album project. Little did I know it would be the title song of this album, back when I wrote this song.

I have a really cool music video planned for this...Cowboys around a campfire...

 2.  Kill The Spider
This song was written back in the 1970s. I can't even remember what girl or girls inspired it. My band was called THE RICH, and we lived in Venice, California, at that time.

I discovered this song in my music lyrics, after recovering from the black widow spider bite. I figured out how to play it to amuse my kids. They really liked it. It's a lot of fun to play. Here's an acoustic performance of it at a Tujunga house concert:

The Path of the Grasshopper

Actually, I don't like grasshoppers.

They weren't even fun to play with as a kid. Their hind legs have sharp spikes on them, and they spit on you. Really. They spit.

So, over the years that I've been doing Kung Fu, I just snickered when I got called, "Grasshopper."

Coyote Live with Stetson HatOne of my friend's mother had a better nickname for me. She called me, "Caine." I may spell it wrong, but David Carradine's name in the TV show, KUNG FU, was Kwai Chang Caine. She said it was my floppy Stetson cowboy hat that she liked.

Funny thing. Since I've been a kid, my friends have always complained, "My mother likes you more than me. Stop acting so nice around my parents!"

I wasn't trying to make my friends look bad. I've always enjoyed good manners. Even in the old western movies, I admired actors like, John Wayne, and Chuck Connors, and Sean Connery, who seemed to even be polite to the bad guys when they got beat up by them.

I do believe in chivalry. Cary Grant is about the most cynical of the actors I admired. He made me laugh the way I hope other people laugh at me. I don't mind being silly or exposing what I don't know. But I do want people to know I'm honest, trustworthy, and loyal.
